We were asked to work alongside Middle East hip hop icon Swerte on his breakout solo record. Previously part of The Recipe who played alongside Snoop Dogg and De La Soul and recorded with Mobb Deep, Swerte needed help with his self-released single ‘Esso.’
Recorded during the height of the lockdown and with racial inequality a growing global concern, Swerte’s incendiary track ‘Esso’ captured the mood of the world. Dark but uplifting, the drill and rap anthem was also recorded in English, Arabic and Indonesian and recorded via digital hangouts.
